ViewBoard Basics: Install vCastSender App to Enable Touchscreen

What is vCastSender?

vCastSender is an application designed by ViewSonic to enable wireless screen sharing from a computer and annotate directly on the ViewBoard. vCastSender software needs be installed to allow for touchscreen interaction when the laptop is casting (projecting).

macOS Mojave (10.14) or higher is required for installation compatibility. Find out which macOS your Mac is using.

Getting Started

Turn on the ViewBoard and be sure that it is connected to the internet. This can either be with an ethernet cable connected to a wall port, or over WiFi.

If there are issues with the ViewBoard connecting to the network, reach out to BPSTechnology (617-635-9200) for further assistance.

Install vCastSender app on a BPS Issued MacBook Air - L4L

When first time casting from vCastSender to IFP (Interactive Flat Panel), MacOS will pop-up message to ask for audio authorization for "vCastSender". Please choose "Agree," or there will be no sound when casting.
  1. Click open the BPSTech Self Service app on the L4L dock.
  2. Search for "Install vCast Sender" in Self Service, then click install to begin.
  1. In the L4L's downloads folder double-click the disk image or package file (looks like an open box). If the provided installer doesn’t open automatically, open it, then follow the onscreen instructions.
    1. In Mac OS Mojave or higher, the software must have accessibility permission in order to have touch control.
      1. Please enable vCastSender via: System Setting > Privacy & Security > Accessibility
      2. Please enable vCastSender via: System Setting > Privacy & Security > Screen & System Audio Recording
  2. Launch the application and enter the pin password on the ViewBoard to begin using the interactive display with casting.
If you encounter issues with the vCast application in Self Service, please follow the steps outlined below. Ensure that you select the appropriate download for your specific operating system (e.g., Windows: download the Windows application; macOS: download the macOS application).

Install the vCastSender app on a BPS Issued Windows device

If the device you are using is not provided by BPS to connect to a ViewBoard for instruction or administrative purposes, you can use these same steps to install vCastSender.
  1. On the ViewBoard, click open the vCast app to bring up the blue and white vCast Connect & Collaborate screen.

  1. Visit the website IP address listed on the ViewBoard's screen, and when prompted, enter the "PIN-Code". The PIN-Code is the password on the ViewBoard's screen, after the phrase, "Please open the vCastSender app to enter the password."

  1. Select the appropriate Windows download.*
  1. Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation process.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions of the vCastSender Setup Wizard.
  3. Click "Next," or "Finish" to complete the process.
Select the vCastSender installer that is appropriate for your non-BPS issued device.*
