How to add a Student Secondary School Association

Adding a Secondary School Association

If students will be attending summer school or participating in the Twilight program, or if students will be taking a course at another BPS school, students need a secondary school association.


There are two ways to add a Secondary School Association

  1. Add Student Secondary School Association for one student at a time, by individual student
  2. Mass add a Secondary School Association for multiple students

Add Secondary School Association - by Individual Student

From the school view ( sis.mybps.org)

  1. Go to the Student top tab
  2. Find student
  3. Go to the Membership side tab
  1. Go to the Schools sub tab
  2. Click Options
  3. Click Add
  1. Enter in the school association information

             - Name: select school
             - School year: enter in the school year
             - Association type: select association type
                 - Secondary: a current association
                 - Former: a previous school association
             - Attendance Management type: who takes Daily attendance?
                 - None: only the student's primary school may enter Daily Attendance
                 - Shared: either school
                 - Sole: only the secondary school may take daily attendance
             - Start date: enter in the start date
             - End date: enter in the end date
  1. Save

Mass Add Secondary School Association - Multiple Students

From the school view ( sis.mybps.org)

  1. Go to the Student top tab
  2. Click the Options menu
  3. Select Create Secondary School Associations
  1. In the pop up window, enter in the Secondary School information

              Secondary school: select school
              District year: select the school year
              Start date: enter in the start date
              End date: enter in the end date

  1. Student selection options: you may individually select the students or use a snapshot

         If selecting Selection:
             - In the pop up window, select the students
             - Click OK when done selecting students

      If selecting Snapshot:
              -In the pop up window, select the Snapshot
             - Click OK after selecting snapshot(s)

A snapshot must have been previously created from the Student top tab to use a snapshot
  1. Click Ok to add secondary school associations
  1. Confirm that the secondary school association has been added by going to the Student>Membership side tab>Schools sub tab
