Google Meet is a collaborative online conferencing tool that allows multiple users to communicate at once in an easily accessible way through video and audio conferencing and text chat, all within Google.

How do I get started with Meet?

  • Sign into your BPS Gmail to set up or join a Meet. You can access Meet from the nine dots at the top right of your screen.

  • Once you click on "Meet," select to Join or start a meeting.

What devices does Meet work on?

Google Meet works on PCs, Macs, Chromebooks or your phone.

What are some ways that I can use Meet?

We suggest using the tool if you:

  • Meeting online frequently with multiple users (1:1 or in groups up to 250)
  • Meetings where only video, audio, and screen sharing is needed
  • Need to share files within Google

How can I host or join a meeting?

There are three options to host or join a meeting: Google Classroom, Google Calendar, and Google Meet. Review step-by-step instructions here.

Hosts can schedule and host meetings for 2 or more users to meet and are the ones in control of the meeting's settings. They are responsible for sharing a link to the meeting with participants so that they can join. Participants can join a meeting once they receive the meeting URL.

How do I share my screen in Meet?

  1. From inside a Hangout, click the Screenshare button on the menu bar at the top. A new window appears.
  2. Select the screen you want to share.
  3. Click the Share Selected Window button, and it opens in a new window.
