How to Install the Tap Card Printers on your Mac

 Step 1: Install the printer

  1. Open System Preferences
  2. Click the 'Printers & Scanners' category
  3. Click + to add a printer and choose the IP tab.
  4. Enter the following info:

Black and White

Color

Address: 10.244.1.30

Protocol: Line Printer Daemon - LPD

Queue: FollowYouBW

Name: FollowYouBW

Use: Generic Postscript Printer

Address: 10.244.1.30

Protocol: Line Printer Daemon - LPD

Queue: FollowYouColor

Name: FollowYouColor

Use: Generic Postscript Printer

TIPS: Delete any old printers by selecting the and clicking the - button. You can also optionally set one of the FollowYou printers as your default
  1. If prompted for your password, enter your BPS ID and password and check the box to save to your keychain.

Step 2: Setup your BPS ID card on the Ricoh machines

  1. Go to any printer/copier in the building with your BPS ID card.
  2. On the home screen of the machine, select the PCC icon. If you do not see this icon, press the home screen icon at the bottom of the screen:
  1. You will see a login screen; tap your BPS ID card on the card reader.
    1. If this is your first time using your BPS ID card with the Ricoh Machine, you will see "User not Recognized."
      1. You will have to manually login the first time using your BPS login and password. Enter your BPS ID in the 'User ID' box and your BPS password in the 'Password' box. (Note: the [OK] button is on the upper right of the screen as you enter your ID.)
  2. Select the “Follow-You Printing” or “Release all” button to print your jobs.

Step 3: How do I print or scan?

  1. Choose the FollowYouBW or FollowYouColor printer from your computer any time you need to print. It doesn’t matter which printer you’re going to; all of the printers in the building will work using the FollowYou printing.
  2. Walk up to any printer in the building and select the PCC icon.
  3. Tap your BPS ID card.
  4. Select 'Release all' to print everything or "Follow-You Printing" to select individual jobs to print.
  1. To scan, select “Scan-to-Me”, place your document on the tray, and push “Scan” on the screen. The document will be scanned and emailed to you immediately.
