Recommending an Attendance Plan for Court

Aspen Support Updated by Aspen Support

When recommending to an attendance officer that the next level of intervention for an attendance plan should be to go to court, there are several requirements:

1

At least 8 unexcused absences for the grade term

2

At least one custodial contact must have the Gender and Date of Birth entered

(How to Add Parent Gender in Aspen)

A custodial contact is a contact with the relationship of:

  • Parent
  • Guardian
  • Caregiver
  • Foster Parent
  • Social Worker

Also, the contact must be at least 18 years old.

3

Eye color, Hair color, Height and Weight for the student

These fields can be entered on the student details screen, or directly on the Attendance Plan. If entered or updated on the attendance plan, they will be copied to the student record (overwriting any existing values).

4

At least three interventions must have been attempted by the school

5

Calls home and other communications with the student or family must be recorded in the Student Journal (Documents side-tab)
