Common Clever Troubleshooting Questions

I am seeing the UH-OH! message in Clever.

You will need to have a primary school in Aspen. Your school's scheduler can make this adjustment for you in Aspen. If you need further support, please call the BPSTech Service Desk at 617-635-9200.

I am not seeing my current school or classes in Clever / I had access to an app last year and seem to have lost access.

Your school needs to have its master schedule published in Aspen. Once this is set and you have classes with students in them, then you should see these classes and students in Clever the next day (Aspen data will need to sync overnight). If you still do not have access to a specific app, it might be that your school does not have access to this app or it is limited to specific grades and/or content area(s). 

The wrong school is listed in Clever.

I want to add a new app to Clever or make changes to sharing rules (which students/classes) are shared with an app.

Please submit this request using the Clever Access & App Integration Request Form.

I need admin access to Clever or a specific app in Clever.

I just updated my schedule/student/staff in Aspen. Why is it not syncing to Clever?

Clever syncs nightly. Changes made in Aspen before 7PM Eastern sync overnight to Clever for next-day access.

I need to be able to change student passwords in Clever or issue Clever Badges.

Students will need to be in Aspen and mapped to a BPS school to have access to Clever. Once that is the case, please see this helpdoc on student passwords and this helpdoc on Clever badging.

Can I have access to two schools in Clever?

No, there is only one school view in Clever. Whichever school this should be will need to be your primary school in Aspen.

What district apps are available in Clever?

Please review our directory of district and school apps. Look closely at the access criteria (class, grade, content area, etc).

How do I add school-purchased apps in Clever?

I am interested in an app.
I bought an app. What next?

If a school has purchased a license to a school-based product that is using a Clever integration, they will need to request for it to be shared in Clever by filling out the Clever Access & App Integration Request Form.

Once this request is received, the app will be added to your school's Clever portal based on the licensing of the app. If you have any questions, please contact cleveradmin@bostonpublicschools.org.
