Blocking or Unblocking a Phone Number in School Messenger

It is always recommended to remove the number from Aspen so that the number is fully removed from all systems. Click here to view the guide for resolving wrong numbers before following the steps below.

In some circumstances, the caller is receiving calls in the middle of the night (different time zone) or they have called BPS multiple times to have their number removed and they still receive calls. The number can be blocked in SchoolMessenger by District Administrators only. The phone number will still exist in our SIS and schools may still use it so it is always best to have schools completely remove it from the SIS and allow the nightly sync to remove it from SchoolMessenger.

Blocking Calls

  1. Go to the System tab.
  2. Click Blocked List.
  3. Click Phone Calls/Text Messages.
  4. Leave the “Block Type” as is.
  5. Add the phone number in the text box and click Add.

Unblocking Calls

  1. Go to the System tab.
  2. Click Phone Calls/Text Messages.
  3. Search for the number in the Blocked Phones section.
  1. Scroll down to find the number.
  2. Click Delete if there is a block on the number.
