Fixing a Student Roster in the Wrong Grade Level Class

This guide is applicable for scheduling students in Grades K-5.

Step 1: Remove Students from the Wrong Section

  1. In School View, click on the Schedule top tab > Sections side tab.
  2. Find the section which needs the students in the incorrect grade level to be removed.
Filter by Platoon, Homeroom, Description, or Grade to help identify the section.

  1. Click on the section and then Roster on the side tab.
In this Scenario, the Arts K2 (Art, Dance, Drama, Music) section has K1 Students rostered. This is not appropriate for the students' grade level and they will need to be placed in a K0-K1 Arts section.
  1. If there are multiple grades scheduled in the section, use the Grade = ? filter to select the specific grade level of students that need to be removed.
  1. Check the box in the top left corner to select all students of that grade level.
  1. Click Options > Delete to remove the students.
If this section will not be used anymore, you can also delete the staff and the Platoon/Homeroom to avoid confusion.
  2. Optional Step: You can delete staff by clicking on the Teachers side tab, then click on the blue hyperlink with the teacher's name. Then select Options > Delete.

Step 2: Create a New Grade-level Appropriate Section

Now you will need to create a new section with the correct course for the students that were dropped.

In this scenario, an Arts K0-K1 (Art, Dance, Drama, Music) will be created for the students K1 students that were dropped.
  1. On the Schedule top tab, click on Options > Add.
  2. For Number, search for the grade-level appropriate course number.
  1. Fill in the other fields necessary for the section.
  2. To mass roster students, click on the Roster side tab. Then click on Options > Add, and pick between the three options to pull in the students.
In this example, Selection is being used.
  1. Click on the grey bar to filter by Homeroom.
  2. Type in the Homeroom/Platoon code in the search bar. Then select all the students who should be scheduled in this section. Make sure to confirm that the number of students being scheduled is correct by looking at the number selected. Then click OK.
In this case 4650_325 is the homeroom typed in the box. The K1 students in Homeroom 325 are selected. Confirmed on the top right that 20 of 722 students should be in this Arts K0-K1 (Art, Dance, Drama, Music) section.
  1. Now the section's Grade level matches the students who are rostered in it.
