How to Find Sections Missing an Active Staff

This guide is intended for school staff who manage the Master Schedule on Aspen.

Per state reporting requirements, all reportable sections require an active teacher with a MEPID (Massachusetts Education Personnel ID) assigned to each class.

Step 1: Filter for Sections Missing an Active Staff

  1. In School View, click the Schedule top tab > Sections side tab.
  1. Click on the Filter icon > EPIMS Sections Missing Active Staff. This filter yields all current year sections that are missing an active teacher.

Step 2: Assign Active Staff to the Sections

Click on one of the sections listed, then click Teachers under the Sections side tab.

If there are no staff assigned to the section, they will need to be added.

  1. To add a staff, click Options > Add.

  1. Fill out the necessary fields for the staff being assigned.
  2. Click Save.

Inactive/ Exited staff need to be removed from the section.

  1. To delete the inactive staff, click the checkbox next to their record.

  1. Click Options > Delete.
  1. In the pop up box, click Continue to remove the inactive staff from the section.

  1. Follow steps 1-3 if the appropriate active staff have not yet been added.
